The KammerMusikKöln Society

The KammerMusikKöln society was founded on the 29th of September, 2011 at the Wolkenburg, Cologne by musicians and citizens of the city of Cologne and their surroundings under the name KammerMusik für Köln e.V., with the aim of giving Cologne a permanent venue for the performance of chamber music.

The Ensemble of KammerMusikKöln, i.e. those musicians who play KammerMusikKöln have the unconditional desire, as ambassadors for the city of Cologne, to focus on chamber music in Cologne. KammerMusikKöln has firmly established itself in the city, accompanied by great interest of the general public. This fact encouraged KammerMusikKöln to extend its involvement to other cities in the long term, and so the first additional concerts were given in Bonn during the 2016/17 season, extended, during the 2017/2018 season, by a complete doubling of Cologne concerts in Bonn. In an effort to extend the concert activity to other cities, the decision was taken to change the name of the society to KammerMusikKöln on the 2nd of August 2017.

The Ensemble of KammerMusikKöln is characterized by the highest demands, both of itself and in the selection of its program. For the opportunity to do so, we thank our interested audience and our sponsors.

The purpose of the association and all its efforts is the promotion and dissemination of classical and contemporary music for chamber music ensembles as well as the promotion and installation of a chamber music hall in Cologne.
